TRUCK SHOW @ 2009 Extreme Motor Sports Expo

Show Guidelines

1.         Upon entry, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions of entrygate, where to pick up show credentials and judging sheet.

2.         Know your vehicle.  What class do you want to be in?  Will your vehicle            qualify for that class?

3.         Be on time.  Allow time for waiting in line.  Gates open at 6:30 am.  Late         registration only accepted until 8:30 am each day.  All vehicles MUST be      parked by 8:45 am.

4.         Be prepared for an all day event.  Due to fire and Fairplex regulations,             departure prior to the show ending each day is NOT allowed.

5.         It is your responsibility to be properly registered for the event.

6.         Show officials have the option to reclassify any vehicle in case of any dispute regarding correct class.

7.         Tents, canopies, tables, Pop-ups, banners, signage, etc. are not allowed.       Chairs (space permitting) and information boards for the displayed vehicle are permissible.

8.         This is a truck show.  Distribution of company literature and other         materials is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  Violation will result in removal from event with no refunds.

9.         Vehicles will only be judged with the registration form properly filled out           and displayed on the dash.

10.       Vehicles cannot be jacked up or put on blocks/jackstands due to safety           concerns.

11.       “For Sale” signs are not permissible and will result in disqualification.

12.       Any awards earned MUST be picked up at the event.  None will be mailed.

 

Awards presentation will be at 2 pm Sunday.

 


Extreme Motorsports Truck show

Official Rules

 

ELIGIBILITY: The Extreme Truck Show (Contest”) is open to individuals who are legal residents of California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona, who are at least 18 and the owner of an eligible truck (an eligible truck is a truck which may be classified within one of the eight classes described on the official Truck Show Entry Form).

 

Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to enter or win a prize: (a) Employees of Outdoor Sports World or Extreme Motorsports Expo (“Sponsor”) and its exhibitors and prize suppliers, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies; (b) individuals engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for the Sweepstakes; and (c) persons who are in the immediate family of any person in any of the preceding categories (including mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or spouse and their respective spouses), regardless of where they live; or persons who reside in the same household, whether related or not, as any person in any of the preceding categories. Void outside the states listed and where prohibited by law.  Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

 

HOW TO ENTER:  The Contest will take place at The Extreme Motorsports Expo, scheduled to take place from May 15, 2009 to May 17, 2009 at the Orange County Fair & Event Center, Costa Mesa, Ca. There is a fee to enter the Contest.  If you enter by May 1, 2009, the fee to enter is $40.00.  Your entry fee will include two (2) adult event passes and one (1) event t-shirt.  If you enter after the above date, you will enter thru gate 8, and the fee to enter will be $50.00 AND MUST BE PAID IN CASH.  The late entry fee will include two (2) adult event passes but will not include a t-shirt. Mail or fax entry fee may be paid by eligible credit card, check or money order. To enter, complete the official Truck Show Entry Form and either (1) mail it to: Extreme Motorsports Expo, 1138 El Camino Dr., Costa Mesa, Ca. 92626 or (2) fax it to (714) 241-0821, or (3) proceed to gate 8 off of Fairview Rd and Arlington Ave., on May 14 or 15, 2009.  Only individuals paying the entry fee via an eligible credit card can submit entry form via fax.  Any truck may only be submitted into one (1) of the eight (8) classes.  See entry form for the list of classes and a description of each class.  Individuals can enter more than one (1) truck; however, each truck must be entered separately and a separate entry fee must be paid for each truck entered.  Sponsor officials reserve the right to reclassify any truck in case of any dispute regarding correct entry class.  Space is limited.  Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.  Entry must be received by deadline date of May 1, 2009 to qualify for the $40.00 entry fee amount.  Entries received after May 1, 2009 will be returned and entrant must enter at gate on event date and pay higher fee.  Once entry has been received and verified, each entrant will receive instructions for participation (including when to arrive, times vehicle must be present during show hours, where vehicle must be parked, etc.).

 

Truck must be owned by entrant.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry it deems to be offensive, inappropriate or is not in keeping with Sponsor’s image or that is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules, in its sole discretion.  Trucks submitted for entry into the Contest must be properly insured.  Entrants will be required to provide proof of insurance and have it in the Truck as well as proof of retail value of truck in a form acceptable to Sponsor,  Sponsor also reserves the right, at its sole

 

 

discretion, to require verification of ownership of any truck in a form acceptable to Sponsor. Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any damage, theft or loss to any entrant’s property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Contest.  All insurance relative to participating in the Contest is the sole responsibility of each entrant. 

 

Entrants grant Sponsor and its designees the right to photograph, videotape and otherwise record trucks submitted for entry into the Contest (“Contest Footage”).  Entrants further agree Sponsor and its designees shall have the worldwide perpetual right to exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the Contest Footage and all elements thereof, in any and all media now known or not currently known (including in current and future advertising and promotions of the Extreme Motorsports Expo on its website), throughout the world in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to entrant or any third party. 

 

JUDGING:  Judging in each class will be conducted by a panel of qualified judges using the criteria described on the attached. Sponsor reserves the right to not award a prize in any class if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified entries for that class.  In the event of a tie in any class, an additional, “tie-breaking” judge will determine the applicable winner based on the applicable criteria listed herein.  Judges’ and Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. 

 

By submitting an entry, entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may obtain many submissions under this Contest and that such entries may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to others submitted under this Contest and/or other contests staged and/or sponsored by the Sponsor, and waive any and all claims entrant may have had, may have, and/or may have in the future, that any ideas and/or other works developed, accepted, reviewed and/or used by the Sponsor (or its designees) may be similar to his/her entry.  Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Sponsor does not have now, nor shall it have in the future, any duty or liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory, or otherwise, with respect to the infringement or protection of any idea, copyright or other intellectual property right in and to entrant’s entry.

 

WINNER NOTIFICATION:  Potential class winners will be announced at the show at 2:00 pm, Sunday May 17, 2009 and may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (where permitted) within a time period specified by Sponsor.  Failure to comply within the time period specified the return of any notification as undeliverable or noncompliance with these Official Rules by a potential Finalist will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s discretion, a runner-up may be notified.  

PRIZES (10) classes (2 per class):  Each class winner will receive a trophy.  Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $20 each.  Total ARV of all prizes: $400. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor.  No

Substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of prize is permitted, except by Sponsor, which reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion.  Any and all taxes on the prize, and any other costs and expenses associated with prizes acceptance and use not specified herein as being awarded are the sole responsibility of the winner.  All prize details will be at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. 

 

GENERAL:  By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these rules and decisions of Sponsor and judges, which shall be final in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of the officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property (including the trucks) resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity (including any travel or activity related thereto), the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the awarded prize or the use by Released Parties’ of any rights granted herein; and (c) to the use by Sponsor and its designees of his/her name, biographical information, voice, performance, photograph, image and/or likeness for trade, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media, now or hereafter known, worldwide and on the Internet, and in perpetuity, without compensation, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. 

 

Released Parties are not responsible for late, lost, damaged, delayed, inaccurate, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable, destroyed, mutilated, stolen or postage-due entries or mail or for errors or problems of any kind whether electronic, network, technical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise relating to or in connection with this Contest, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materialsSponsor may disqualify anyone from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in its sole discretion, it determines that such person is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, deception or other unfair playing practices, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrant or Sponsor’s representatives or who are otherwise in violation of these Official Rules and void all associated entries. ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend any portion of the Contest should causes corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest and judge all eligible, non-suspect entries received up to time of such impairment to choose award the prize for the class at issue (as applicable) using the judging procedure described above.  Contest is governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of laws principles, with venue in Orange County, California and all claims must be resolved in the courts of Orange County, California.

 

Entrant agrees to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Orange County, California.

JUDGING CRITERIA

 

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of three impartial judges, not affiliated with The Extreme Motorsports Expo.  Judging will be completed by 12:00 noon, Sunday May 17, 2009.  Judges will rate each entrant in its appropriate class by assigning a point value for each of the four categories.  The point value will range from 1-25 for each category with a maximum score of 100.  Entries in each class with the highest aggregate score will be declared the winner of the appropriate class.  Winners will receive a trophy commemorating the class win. The highest single aggregate score will be declared the winner of Best of Show.
